Application Of Chinese Traditional Kites In Modern Costume Design

China’s traditional kite is a kind of folk art and leisure activities with a long history and cultural heritage in our country.It has a gorgeous appearance and profound cultural connotation,which is the product of ancient ancestors taking nature as the source of inspiration.There are a large variety and unique kites in various parts of our country.They are different,different styles.In recent years,the Chinese traditional kites have been regarded as a kind of cultural development in China,and they have been applied in modern design,forming a certain folk art culture and creative industry.Over the years,kites have almost only been identified as a carrier of recreational activities.As a mode of exercise for people in their spare time,they did not understand the traditional Chinese kite art as a culture and studied innovation from an academic point of view.However,in recent years,Chinese traditional culture and folk arts and crafts have been gradually valued by everyone,which promotes the re-development of the traditional kite culture.The traditional kite art elements are also used in modern design.This article studies the application of Chinese traditional kites in modern garment design.With the gradual strengthening of globalization and the acceleration of the process of modernization,the integration and permeation of various national cultures have brought "Chinese elements" more and more frequently on the international stage.In recent years,some designers on the international show floor have combined Chinese traditional culture with modern fashion.This shows that the traditional Chinese culture elements applied to the design of modern clothing has gradually formed a trend.Although the combination of Chinese traditional culture and modern clothing design is more and more diversified,it is still at the stage of exploration of development as a whole.How to apply the design rules to apply the traditional cultural elements to the design of modern clothing and ultimately improve and enhance the construction and innovation of the traditional cultural connotation of modern clothing is our immediate objective.The first chapter introduces the purpose and significance of applying Chinese traditional kite elements to modern clothing design through the research background and current situation analysis.Through the literature retrieval method and practice method,the paper studies the related contents.The second chapter,"Overview of Chinese Traditional Kites",briefly introduces the concept and origin of kites and studies the aesthetic characteristics of kites.The third chapter extracts and recreates the kite art elements.It extracts the artistic elements from the traditional kite’s shape,pattern,color,craft material and so on,and then re-creates by means of deconstruction,abstraction and exaggeration.The fourth chapter "Kite art elements in the modern apparel design and aesthetic research" will be re-created the traditional Chinese kites elements from the clothing structure,pattern,color,fabric and accessories to start with several ways to show the traditional Application of Kite Art Elements in Modern Costume Design.The fifth chapter "Conclusion and Prospect" summarizes the research content of the article and prospects the follow-up research.
