Along with society progress,more and more higher quality requirement are needed on the engineering.Position error not only have a great effect on every single mechanical parts,but also make a great difference on normal operation of the whole machine or instrument.So accurate measurements and correct evaluate for the position error,also with the position error visualization realized,will be very important for the quality promotion and further development of machinery products in the future.The research status of geometrical error at home and abroad are discussed in the paper,it point out some problems that are existing.And then mathematical models of position error are rebuilt and re-induced rely on the new criterion GB/T1182-2008 which is published by our country.On the basis of that the paper also have designed and made out the evaluation system of position error virtual instrument,which realizing the visualization of position error drawing.The main works in paper including that:(1)At the beginning of paper,the basic theories of visualization of position error drawing,including:the 3D body-model,the choice of coordinate and projection drawing are researched in it.It also has a deep discussion in the formula of projection transformation and the method to realize some basic elements(such as broken line,circle,ellipse and cylinder)which are needed necessarily in the visualization of position error drawing and skill of graph blanking.(2)According to the definition and evaluation criterion of positional alignment error(including point,line and plane positional alignment error)in national standard GB/T1182-2008,with reading some results of position error for reference,the mathematical models for the methods of position error evaluation are established in the paper.And then these mathematical models which have been built already will be converted to the mathematical models that apply to computer graphics expression.(3)On the basis of the upon theory,the multifunctional evaluation system of position error virtual instrument with modularization and systematization has been made rely on the software Lab Windows/CVI.The evaluation system of position error that have been designed and the mathematical models that have been built will be proved by using experimental data.And the result of these have been proved the mathematical models that have been built and the related basic theory are correct.
