Study On The Dyeing Process Of Rabbit Hair Fabric

Rabbit hair,one of important animal protein fibers,has white color and smooth handle.Rabbit hair fiber belongs to high-grade textile raw material among all textile fibers,and it is mainly used for knitting sweater and blended coat fabrics.In addition,rabbit hair products have many advantages including soft handle,warm and bright luster,which are becoming popular among the public.However,the dyeing of rabbit hair fabric is difficult,and it has poor color brightness after dyeing.This study is a cooperation project with a company which is aimed at studying the dyeing process of rabbit hair fabric.Rabbit hair fabric was dyed with reactive dye for wool,weak acid dye and reactive dye for cotton,respectively.By measuring the K/S value and brightness value(C value),the dyes with good dyeing depth and higher dyeing brightness were selected.At the same time,the effects of dyeing water,fluorescent whitening agent,bleaching process,dyeing conditions and softening finishing on rabbit hair dyeing depth and dyeing brightness were investigated.Also,the optimal experiment conditions were got to improve the dyeing brightness.The results showed that the reactive dye for cotton was not appropriate for rabbit hair.In addition,although reactive dye for wool had the similar effect on the dyeing brightness to weak acid dye,the dyeing process was too long.And thus the weak acid dye could be the suitable choice.For weak acid dye,the yellow dyes had the highest brightness(C value),and the blue dyes had the lowest one with same dye concentration.The C value of fabric sharply increased with the concentration of yellow dyes rising.For blue dyes,this value had no obvious change with the increase of dye concentration.In addition,the C value of red dyes showed irregular change.Then,the analysis of water quality and fluorescent whitening agent were also carried out.The results showed that the K/S value and C value of the fabric dyed with distilled water was slightly higher than that with tap water.Also,adding fluorescent whitening agent to dyeing process can improve the C value significantly.The C values of all the blue dyes and one red weak acid dye increased,for the yellow fabric,the effect is opposite.It shows that choosing the appropriate dye and fluorescent whitening agent,can improve the dyeing brightness.At the same time,the influence of bleaching process on the dyeing property of rabbit hair was investigated.By testing the whiteness and alkali solubility of bleached fabric the optimum bleaching condition was determined: hydrogen peroxide 6g/L,sodium pyrophosphate 2g/L,PAG 4g/L,bleaching at 80?for 40 min and controlling the p H value of bleaching solution at 8.Adopting the bleaching process conditions,dyeing the bleached and unbleached rabbit hair fabric with reactive dye for wool and weak acid dye.The results displayed that the bleaching process has little influence on the K/S value and C value.This study also focused on dyeing the rabbit hair fabric with Argacid red N-3B.In this process,single factor experiment and orthogonal experiment were used to investigate the influences of sodium sulfate concentration,ammonium sulfate concentration,dyeing temperature,dyeing time on the C value and K/S value.When the concentration of dye is 3%o.w.f.,the optimum condition was: sodium sulfate 4g/L,ammonium sulfate 3g/L,dyeing at 90?for 60 min.Also,when the concentration of dye is 3%o.w.f.,the optimum condition was: sodium sulfate 5g/L,ammonium sulfate 5g/L,dyeing at 90?for 70 min.In addition,by testing the washing fastness,the results showed that the fade and stain fastness were above Grade 4.Finally,amino silicone oil as finishing agent was applied to the dyed fabric,and the L,a,b,C value and K/S value of the fabric were measured before and after finishing.The results demonstrated that the concentration of amino silicone softener,treatment time and temperature has influence on the K/S value and C value,L values decreased after finishing.This study could have good guidance and reference value to the dyeing production of the cooperation company.
