As an important typical high energy consumption equipment of large concentrator,the grinding efficiency of ball mill is closely related to the economic benefits of enterprises.Currently,enterprises add and subtract material to the ball mill through experience estimation,which easily leads to ball mill “empty mill” and “full mill” phenomenon,not only the economic efficiency of the enterprise is damaged,but also the service life of the ball mill is shorten.To solve the problem that the mill load is difficult to be directly detected and the indirect detection method's poor real time performance,a method of detecting the load condition of the ball mill based on the grinding sound is put forward by repeated studying of the relationship between grinding signals and ball mill load conditions.And the fuzzy control algorithm is adopted to realize the automatic control of ball mill.The main content is as follows:1.A method to identify the load condition of the ball mill by using the audio energy spectral density is proposed in this paper,which calculates the energy spectral density using the detected sound of the ball mill,so the load condition of the ball mill and real-time performance can be well indirectly reflected through the energy spectral density analysis.2.Design of ball mill load detection system.In this paper,we use the EM9160 and EM9281 industrial motherboard as the data acquisition board and the on-site display analysis board,the data acquisition board is in charge of collecting and processing the ball mill audio information,and the on-site display analysis board is responsible for displaying and judging the real condition of the ball mill.3.The remote monitoring center design.Remote monitoring center receives the ball mill import and export flow,concentration information which come from the ball mill control PLC,after a certain fuzzy control rules,the control information will be sent to the broken feed PLC,by controlling the speed of belt conveyor to control the ball mill feeding speed,so as to realize the automatic control of the whole system.This design solves the difficult problem of real-time detection of ball mill load conditions,and makes a further exploration on the automatic control of ball mill.The experimental results based on “Yin'gezhuang concentrator ball mill load detection project” shows that the good real-time detection system,can accurately reflect the ball mill load.The simulation results of the control system show that the detection and control system can realize the detection and automatic control of the ball mill load,and the control effect is satisfactory.The innovation point of this paper lies in the detection of the ball mill load from the perspective of the audio energy spectral density,and can display the live ball mill load condition results is important reference to the operating worker to manually control ball mill.And it provides a layer of protection for the ball mill working in the best conditions in long-term work.
