In recent years,carbide tools have become the main tool for processing and manufacturing in China.Carbide tools are widely used in the fields of automobile and parts production,abrasive manufacturing,aerospace and other heavy industries.However,our traditional tool design methods have been unable to meet the production of high precision and high performance cemented carbide tools.Therefore,in the modern tool design method,we should consider the geometrical relationship between the structure of carbide tool and the temperature,stress and strain of the cutting tool,because these factors are very important in the wear and damage of the tool.Through the mastery of modern tool design of advanced technology to achieve China's manufacturing industry in the carbide tool demand on the "self-sufficiency."Therefore,in this paper,the optimization of thermo-solid coupling field and geometrical structure in the machining of solid carbide end mill is carried out.Based on the grinding principle of ANCA NC grinding machine,this paper establishes a mathematical model of the precise geometric structure of the integral end mill.Then,the virtual model of the solid grinding machine is used to build a three-dimensional model of the solid end mill.Altered preservation format of this model is introduced into ANSYS finite element software for temperature field and thermo-solid coupling field analysis.Through integration of the 3D modeling and finite element analysis process by ISIGHT optimization software,the relevant constraints and conditions are set up to realize the solid end milling,and the geometrical structure of the tool is automatically optimized.Finally,the optimized milling cutter and the initial values milling cutter are used to perform the milling test of the milling machine through the ANCA CNC grinding machine and the wear law and life of the two types of end mills is tested respectively.From the analysis of temperature field and thermo-solid coupling of solid end mill based on ANSYS,the variation laws of temperature field and thermosetting coupling field of end mill under different milling parameters are obtained.It provides an effective evidence for selecting appropriate milling parameters according to their own needs.The optimization of geometric structure design of the solid end mill based on ISIGHT is carried out to realize the optimal solution to the geometrical parameters of the end mill under certain conditions,and it is reasonable and feasible to verify the optimization method through milling test.These proposed methods can provide useful tools to improve milling performance of the end mill,realize the optimization of geometric structure parameters,shorten the development cycle of the end mill and extend the life of the end mill.
