As a new type of metal plastic forming technology, cold rolling forming technology can be widely used in involute splines, screw, gear and other processing areas for its high-efficiency,precision and environmental protection. Cold rolling technology is a kind of moldless.multi-factor coupling under the complex forming technology, and the forming accuracy and forming efficiency is a bottleneck restricting for its engineering application. In this paper, the simulation and experimental study on the cold roll forming of the toothed parts provide the basis for the precise formation and control of the surface profile of the forming parts, which owns important theoretical and engineering significance.Based on the characteristics of large deformation and high strain rate during the process of cold rolling, the static compression and Hopkinson experiments were used to obtain the constitutive parameters of 40Cr material and the constitutive model of J-C material. The influence of grid type and side length and mass reduction ratio on contour shape accuracy in finite element model is studied by simulation analysis method,which determines the suitable grid and mass scaling coefficients, which lays the best and lays the foundation of a better simulation result.The finite element simulation software of ABAQUS was used to simulate the forming process of the cold rolling. Analyzing the influence to the tooth shape in the rolling speed, the depth of the penetration and the amount of the feed rate on the tooth shape and obtained the effects of different parameters to the tooth shape.Through the experiment of cold rolling,the discipline influence of different process parameters to the cogging width and the uplift of the groove. The prediction model between the parameters of the process and the parameters of the groove was established by BBD test design and response surface method. Comparing with the simulation analysis, it is found that the experimental and simulation results are in good agreement, not only verifies the correctness of the prediction model and the simulation results, also has a good guiding effect on the practical engineering application.
