The decarburization reaction of 3.2wt%C iron-carbon alloy strip has been studied in the mixed Ar-H2-H2 O weakly oxidizing atmosphere. The effects of decarburization temperature, decarburization time and strip thickness on decarburization were studied. The carbon content after treatment is decreased with higher temperature and longer treating time. The temperature and decarburization time has a significant effect on the decarburization reaction. The carbon content of 1 mm iron-carbon alloy strip after decarburization is expressed as wt=3.2e(0.52319-4.495×10-4T)t,The carbon content of 1.5 mm iron-carbon alloy strip after decarburization is expressed as wt=3.2e(0.196121.62×104T)t.The decarburization reaction is an apparent first-order Gas-solid reaction. After analysis, the activation energy of the apparent decarburization reaction and the decarburization rate constant have been obtained.Higher the temperature raising rate, weaker the graphitizing process. An empirical formula for the de-graphitizing depth and time of decarburization is y=Ct1/2,the constant C is determined by temperature. |
