The export quantity of China's carpet increases year by year,of which the tufting carpet account for more than 40% of the whole carpet market share.In order to improve the production efficiency and production of carpet,carpet tufting manufacturer have to introduce the new production technology and equipment,but the price of advanced carpet tufting machine from foreign are expensive,so carpet manufacturers will target on the equipment of domestic carpet tufting manufacturer,this causes the development of carpet tufting machine technology in China.This subject is a collaborative project,which is collaborate by Donghua university carpet equipment research center and a carpet manufacturer located in Zhejiang province.This paper mainly focuses on the optimized design of the upper machine control software of carpet tufting machine.This article proposes a new control system solution based on the Twin CAT system architecture,and introduce the hardware and software control system of the new system in detail.On the function of the system need to implement for each function module design of PC software,using ADS communication technology between upper and lower computer on the communication.Finally,according to each functional module,the design of the upper machine software interface is completed.The main research is as follows:(1)Based on existing carpet tufting machine working principle and technological process of analysis,combined with Beckhoff control technology,puts forward a set of Twin CAT system architecture based efficient,convenient and safe control system,analyzed the hardware and software modules of the control system,and completed the overall design of the control system.(2)This paper analyzes the main functional modules in the software,categorizes data types contained in software.The method of octree quantification in image processing module was optimized,.The accuracy of color classification is improved,and the post-processing image is more closely related to the original quality.The ratio of the height of the loop height to the speed of the motor is analyzed.(3)Beckhoff Twin CAT system architecture is introduced,way and the method of ADS communication is analyzed.The Ether CAT bus was adopted to meet the communication betweenthe site equipment,and analyzed the advantages of ADS applications on carpet tufting machines.(4)The function of the PC software is analyzed,for each function module,in the Visual Studio development environment for PC software interface and function in detail design.The main functional modules include graphical display editing module,system running display module,function parameter module,status display module and real-time monitoring moduleIn the Twin CAT system architecture,the information transfer based on ADS between the upper computer system software and lower computer system software in the carpet tufting machine is faster and more stable.
