With the improving demands for producing efficiency,clothing qualities and comfort,etc in apparel industry and garment research field,2D garment CAD technologies are widely utilized and bring economic benefits nowadays,which have been gradually replaced by 3D garment CAD(namely 3D virtual try-on)technologies.3D garment CAD technologies are being popularized with their advanced simplified pattern block sketching,clothing designing and sample making processes comparing with 2D CAD.However,in both 2D and 3D garment CAD environments,there's no exact parameter to describe and evaluate shape and fit of garment.Therefore,based on 2016-2017 fashionable female dress shapes,dress samples with different pattern block parameters,fabric types and styles were made.With the3 D body scanner,the precise indexes of body and dresses were measured as well,and algorithms of parameterization between dress shape and fit were conducted,which had a high significance in research.The “body-dress” system are the main research object of this study.Through studying and analyzing with fabric mechanical properties,pattern block parameters of female dresses,dress styles,etc,the database of 3D virtual try-on shaping was optimized and improved.The main research content of this study includes the following aspects: collecting female dress photos of famous brands' fashion show in year 2016,and analyzing the most fashionable dress shapes of 2016 with digitization methods;testing essential mechanical properties of 5kinds of textile fabrics with Kawabata Evaluation System for Fabric(KES-F)and relevant testing instruments;sketching the basic dress pattern block with experiments,then sketching special dress patterns and making dress samples,which were scanned in 3D body scanner later;after analyzing results of objective and subjective experiments,solid laws and algorithms between parameters of fabrics' styles and properties,indexes of dress pattern blocks,style types of dresses,fit indexes could be found,which could also be references to3 D garment CAD shaping.With experimental study mentioned above,conclusions could be drawn:(1)The fashionable women dress silhouette in 2016 is H style,which could be expressed by accurate parameters with its concrete shape features.(2)fit indexes of dress could be expressed and evaluated by concrete parameters,such as: bottom height,air volume difference between dress and dummy;(3)pattern blocks,garment fabrics and dress style will influence the fit indexes of dress,the concrete relationship could be expresses by linear regression analysis equation.
