Cycloid bevel gears,which have advantages of stable transmission,strong carrying capacity,low noise,mainly used in automobile rear axle.The formation of tooth surface of Cycloid bevel gears processed by the mode of face-hobbing is more complicated compared with Gleason spiral bevel gears.The research of cycloid bevel gears in China starts late,so the cutting processing technology and theory of cycloid bevel gears are not yet complete.These problems seriously impeded the development of spiral bevel gear technology in China.Given this,this paper,based on the situation of our country,puts forward a new method of four-axis linkage processing cycloid tooth bevel gears.The main research content is listed as follows:Through the research on the similarities and differences of structure and movement mode between the traditional mechanical machine tool and six-axis linkage machine tool,a new method based on four-axis linkage processing cycloid tooth bevel gear is proposed.The forms of motion of every moving axis are introduced.The feasibility of this processing method is proposed tentatively.The structures of common cutters of cycloid bevel gear are researched.The mathematical models of cutter and cycloid tooth bevel gear are established.The surface equation and the unit normal vector of the gear surface and cradle surface are obtained.The three-dimension model tooth surface is established and the influence of machine tool processing parameters on the tooth surface deviation is studied through discretizing tooth surface points.The tooth surface curvature parameter is calculated and the TCA program is written.The influence of cutter parameters on the tooth surface contact is analysis by the use of TCA program.The mathematical model of four-axis linkage processing method is established and the motion relation of the four processing axis is studied.The main processing difference between four-axis linkage and mechanical machine tool is that for the former the cutter tool proceed a parallel translation but the later proceed an additional rotary movement.The cutting experiment process is designed and the NC program is written.The results of the gear cutting processing experiment and the tooth surface error detection and contact area detection experiment show that it can get ideal tooth surface and the contact area with the four-axis linkage machining cycloid bevel gear.
