Flame retardant research of polyester fiber has attracted worldwide attention since the 70 s of last century.At present,the flame retardant of polyester fiber can be achieved by the way of blend,copolymerization,compositing spinning,surface grafting,post-processing,respectively.Of these,the optimal way is the copolymerization modification.The advantage of this way is no harm to human body.Therefore,it is the most popular and represents the mainstream development of flame retardant polyester.In view of this,it is necessary to study the synthesis of copolymer flame retardant polyester.The phosphorus flame retardant polyester was synthesis by a two-steps reaction process.Firstly,the terephthalic acid(PTA),ethylene glycol(EG)and CEPPA were esterified at 220?C ~240?C at a pressure of 0.4MPa under vacuum condition to produce the mixtures of the 2-Hydroxyethyl Methyl Terephthalate(BHET)and Phenyl propionic acid glycol ethyl ester phosphonic acid(CEPPAE),afterward the above mixtures were firstly condensed at 220?C ~240?C under a lower vacuum,and then heated to 280?C~283?C to continue the react under higher vacuum to produce the phosphorus flame retardant polyester.The properties of flame retardant of polyester were characterize by the differential scanning clorimetry(DSC),oxygen index(OI),vertical burning method and conical calorimeter,respectively.The results shown that as the phosphorus flame retardant monomer of 4.5wt% is added,the oxygen index is 33%,the vertical combustion test can reached FV-0 grade.
