The modification process for natural Illite ore was completed by cationic sufactant CTAB and the coupling agent KH-560,both CTAB modified Illite and coupling agent modified Illite were produced.By using PEEK mixed with natural Illite,CTAB modified Illite and KH-560 modified Illite,respectively,three kinds of different powder coatings was manufactured.To test the properties of these powder coatings,the composite coating layers on stainless steel substrate were made by electrostatic spraying technology,followed by heating melting,curing,cooling under inert gas protection.The IR and TGA were used to characterize the Illite modification results.And SEM was also used to scan the status of particles and the cross section after curing.The experiment showed that the natural Illite ore can be modified with CTAB and KH-560.The Illite powder modified by KH-560 got excellent affinity with PEEK powder which can be better coated with to formulate something like an“elastic element” inside the composite layer.The effect of the so called elastic element was to smooth the coating surface.By different proportion of modified illite added,solve the shrinkage cavity and PEEK powder coating sagging phenomenon.The composite coating layer adhesiveness was “0” level,and Shore hardness was 92.6 besides its good stability against acid,alkali and chemical solvents.
