Mirco parts and structures are widely applied to various fields.With the development of technology,the requirements for their performances and accuracy become more and more critical,and hence bring up a more serious challenge to the micro machine tool.Micro-WEDM fit for machining micro parts and structures,especially for those complex and with a high degree of accuracy,because of its noncontact procession.In order to study the processing feature of Micro-WEMD,a desktop Micro-WEMD is developed on the base of Multi-functional machine tools.At first,key techniques of Micro-WEDM are analyzed and research.Components of WEDM is not suitable for desktop Micro-WEDM,for its huge occupied space and exorbitant price.The wire winding system,fixture system and so on would be redesigned for desktop Micro-WEDM.Wire winding system includes tension control mechanism,speed control mechanism and precision guide-wheel group.In order to improve the stability of the wire winding system,combination of theory and practice is used for analyzing system,which analysis wire winding in theory and builds up mathematical model,so as to puts forward measures to keep up the stability of the system;optimizing system with orthogonal experiments,which find out the vibration of wire electrode influence factors and reach the best parameters combination for wire winding.The validation of the mathematical model and vibration theory is verified by running the wire winding system under the best parameters combination.Computerized Numerical Control(CNC)system is developed in line with the machining mechanism of Micro-WEDM.CNC of Micro-WEDM is base of Lab VIEW under Windows 2007.There are four function modules in CNC,including initialization module,crude toolsetting module,precise toolsetting module and machining module.Detection circuit includes sensor and amplifying circuit,which detects current and convert it into voltage to be collected.Data Acquisition Card(DAQ Card)collects the voltage converted and passes it to the superior computer.CNC analyzes Spark states of the gap according to the collected signal,and presents a systematic technology of feed rate optimization.The Machine Capacity and its stability are validated with machining experiments.Groove cutting experiments are carried on the 1000?m ed copper with 30?m wire electrode.In order to reach the best parameters combination of the cutting,orthogonal experiments about electrical parameter are carrying on.Micro square spiral groove is cut by Micro-WEDM with best electrical parameters combination.
