Water swelling rubber,which is a new type of absorbent rubber,constituting of mixing the rubber colloid with various kinds of active agents,reinforcing fillers,absorbent resins,curing agents and active agents.Owing to the great mechanical and physical mechanical properties,rubber after the hydrophilic expansion could be applied in various types of cracks and gaps,and also play a role in sealing water.The rubber commonly used to be the sealing material and water sealant water material of civil construction,and it was also widely applied in the construction,automotive,underground field,etc.The heat resisting water swelling rubber can gain the high water swelling rate which in the water condition of the room temperature and the water absorption is relatively stable as well,whereas the water swelling is dramatically unstable which in the water condition of high temperature,so it resulted the decrease of its service life.Therefore,improving the heat resisting property of heat resisting water swelling rubber is very important to the real application which under the harsh engineering environment.In this work,the heat resisting water swelling rubber was forming by using of hydrogenated nitrile rubber(HNBR)as the matrix material and added different additives.The mechanical properties,aging resistance,high temperature water absorption stability and the case life expectancy of water-swelling rubber were studied.The effects of the carbon black(CB),silica(WCB),plasticizer and accelerator on the properties of heat resisting water swelling rubber were investigated respectively,when studied the properties effects of heat resisting water swelling rubber.The mechanical properties ofheat resisting water swelling rubber were studied by torque vulcanizer and universal drawing machine,and the water absorption performance was tested in the water condition with the room temperature and 80 ?.Finally,its breakage elongation and the tensile elongation and the time of the critical value were tested by heat air test,and the Allenius equation was used to calculate the service life of the rubber.The results show that with the increase of silica,the crosslinking density increased,the tensile strength of heat resisting water swelling rubber increased and the hardness increased greatly,whist the stability of water absorption expansion decreased.The performance of heat resisting water swelling rubber is greatest when the WCB / CB ratio is 10: 20.With the growth of carbon black content,the crosslinking density decreased,the tensile strength decreased,the breakage elongation decreased,but the hardness increased.And the performance of heat resisting water swelling rubber is best when the WCB / CB ratio is 40: 0.With the content of plasticizer increased,the tensile strength decreased,the breakage elongation increased firstly and then decreased,and the hardness did not change greatly.Among them,the greatest performance of that existed in the 2 content of plasticizer.With the increase of the content of the accelerator,the tensile strength increased firstly and then decreased,the breakage elongation decreased firstly and then increased,and the hardness never changed.When the content of the accelerator is 1,the performance is the best.Using the Arénius equation to calculate the service life of heat resisting water-swelling rubber,with 1.5 years and utilizing the breakage elongation and applying Arrhenius equation to calculate the service life of heat resisting water-swelling rubber whic 18.5 years.
