Backfill plough is a kind of special underwater operation equipment which is used to backfill pipeline trenchs and bury the pipeline,its main function is to bury the pipelines which are distributed in pipeline trenchs and prevent the pipelines from being damaged.This subject originates from the project named “submarine pipeline backfill plough” of COPEC,aims at designing and developing a submarine pipeline bury equipment which has independent intellectual property rights,then experiments and researchs.This paper provides a very important reference for the research of submarine pipeline backfill plough by designing,doing simulation and conducting experiments based on the successful designing experience of overseas submarine pipeline backfill plough.At first,this paper expounds the overseas and domestic research status,analyzes the working principle of submarine pipeline backfill plough,then makes a detailed analysis on the working process and working system of backfill plough.Then proposes the total design scheme of backfill plough based on the working principle and designing requirement,detailed analyzes the main structure of backfill plough and identifies the main components of backfill plough: backfill mechanism,travelling mechanism,adjusting mechanism and overall frame.The backfill mechanism is the main working component,it collects the soil distributed beside the trench to move into the trench to bury the pipeline during work;the travelling mechanism is the supporting component of backfill plough and comprises front and rear slide boot mechanism;the adjusting mechanism is used to scale the slide boot and adjust its pose position and orientation;the overall frame is the bearing component of the whole backfill plough,including traction,soil resistance and water flow force.Analyze the load generated by the the ocean environment and the key components of submarine pipeline backfill plough based on its working condition,modeling the mechanical model of every parts as the loading gist of check ing the strength in ANSYS,the strength check shows that every component can satisfies the design demand of strength and stability.At last analysis the overall mechanics of backfill plough,to solve the working traction.Conducting simulation on hydraulic system,obtain the flowrate,pressure and velocity diagram,based on which we can analyze its influence on the whole mechanism.Then conduct dynamics simulation of adjust component whose power is provided by hydraulic cylinders to analyze the variation of the forces on cylinder pivot point in different conditions to make sure the mechanism can keep normal operation in ADAMS.Construct the backfill plough experimental prototype and conduct experiments on land to validate the working principle of it.The experiments mainly measure the backfill traction and the plough body tension,analyze the variation of traction and tension at different backfill speed,opening and closing angel of backfill plough body.Then compare the experiment data with the theoretical calculation to verify the backfill principle and prototype design.
