With the rise of virtual reality simulation,computer simulation technology and the applying of 3D applications,the storage of model optimization and collision detection problem becomes a research hotspot.With the increasing of the complexity of virtual environment and the degree of the scale model,it is not only difficult to store data,but also will reduce the computing speed.They will affect the timeliness and accuracy of collision detection.Therefore,the research of the compression algorithm of model data and the collision detection algorithm are very meaningful.This paper uses offshore drilling platform docking simulation system as application background,researching real-time collision detection and the model of the storage optimization for virtual docking.First of all,the papers aim at docking big scenes,a large of number of objects,the high complexity of geometry and other characteristics.We propose a normalized compression method of model vertex,The method can greatly reduce the storage of virtual simulation scene and the amount of calculation,accelerating the collision detection.Secondly,the paper combined the characteristics of the drilling system,and design a backtracking algorithm based on time and spatial correlation.By recording the traverse path of two trees surround collision detection,this method reduces the number of time bounding volume intersection test..In order to reduce the situation of the level of child nodes intersection tested,the paper uses three-dimensional triangular to two-dimensional projection to calculate the vector product to text the detection.Finally,Vega-based platform,the secondly development of real-time collision detection is applied to the docking collision based on offshore drilling platform.This new collision detection functionality to meet the accuracy and real-time collision detection in docking process,laid the foundation for the development of offshore drilling platform docking system.
