The power consumption per ton aluminum has been significantly reduced in recent years,and savings per ton is around 900kWh.The power consumption level in China has entered into the world advanced tanks.These energy conservation results are mainly due to the revolutionary progress of cathode technology,such as shaped cathode,double steel rod cathode,drained cathode cell etc.The cathode structure combined with advanced automation control makes the Chinese aluminum electrolytic production technology reach the international advanced level.This paper analyzed the problems of short convex service life and efficient control issues appeared in large-scale industrial application of 240kA shaped cathode structure electrolytic cell,providing ideas for shaped cathode technology optimization and universal application.In the long-term industry practice the author mainly studied the cathode surface convex consumption of different parts and different density,the convex service life after improved,the convex service life in different roasting and starting methods and the convex service life in different technical conditions.During the study,the author in the field to track a number of different types shaped cathode cell in different management and target to do the experiment with different types of energy-shaped cathode cell,to optimizate the technology,type and management and form the most reasonable design and control mode.After the suspension of production the author obtain a large number of cell surface detailed data,at the same time analyze the cathode components by means of advanced equipment of Northeastern University School and get the flow field simulation.Through a series of theoretical analysis and long term industrial practice in 240kA aluminum reduction cell,we believe that the appropriate roasting method,scientific bosses size and density,clear control ideas and proper operation jointly impact the smooth efficient,long life production of shaped cathode structure stable cell.
