New material light conveyor belt are applied at more and more areas,which has begun to replace the rubber conveyor belt.Polyvinyl chloride(PVC)has better flame retardant property.But when it was used as soft plastics,a lot of plastically material will be added,which results in the flame retardant property worse.New type light conveyor belt should have good flame retardant and good peel strength and high wear resistance properties.This project is about the technology research and development of the company's flame retardant light conveyor belt.The main purpose is to research a kind of new belt cover material that has better anti-fire properties,at the same time the mechanical properties meet the company standard.This paper analyzed the influence of filler agent and flame-retardants and plasticizers to the mechanical and flame retardant properties of the cover layer material.A new recipe of flame retardant cover layer material was developed through the analysis and then the recipe to the trail production was applied.This paper is based on the analysis of the mechanical properties of company's original recipe.Firstly the influence of different amount of plasticizers was studied.And then different amounts of flame retardants were added in the recipe to study the influence of different amounts of three flame retardants to the cover layer's mechanical and flame retardant properties.(1)Separately different amounts of DOP and epoxidized soybean oil were added as well as filler agent of calcium carbonate in PVC resin to study the trend of mechanical properties of PVC coating materials.The flame retardant experimental recipe is determined as 100 PHR of PVC resin,90 PHR of DOP,20 PHR of calcium carbonate.(2)Respectively different amounts of flame retardant antimony trioxide were added,aluminum hydroxide and zinc borate were added to the flame retardant recipe to study the flame retardants properties and mechanical properties of the coating material.The flame retardant experimental recipe is determined as 100 PHR of PVC resin,90 PHR of DOP,20 PHR of calcium carbonate,and 20 PHR of aluminum hydroxide.(3)Respectively different amounts of flame retardant aluminum hydroxide and zinc borate were added to the flame retardant recipe to study the trends of flame retardants properties and mechanical properties of the coating material.And the flame retardant experimental recipe is determined as 100 PHR of PVC resin,90 PHR of DOP,20 PHR of calcium carbonate,20 PHR of aluminum hydroxide,10 PHR of antimony trioxide and 20 PHR of zinc borate.(4)The flame retardant performances meet the company standards,but mechanical properties especially the peel strength cannot meet company standards.So add the epoxy soybean oil in the flame retardant recipe,the mechanical properties of flame retardant recipe dramatically improved.And the flame retardant experimental final recipe is determined as 100 PHR of PVC resin,90 PHR of DOP,20 PHR of calcium carbonate,20 PHR of aluminum hydroxide,10 PHR of antimony trioxide,20 PHR of zinc borate and 4 PHR of epoxy soybean oil.(5)In trial production,the top layer's peel strength was slightly smaller than the bottom layer's.In order to improve the peel strength of top layer,the heating temperature of the top layer's was increase.And the top layer peel strength was improved after the temperature increased.Eventually the process parameters were determined as:the heat temperature of the lower layer cover coating material is 190?,the top layer cover coating material is 200?.
