There is a growing concern of Floating Production Storage and Offloading units(FPSO)from the entire world since it has become the emerging technology and equipment in offshore oil industry.In general,the FPSO is composed of mooring system,oil and gas production and processing system,oil storage system and export system.The oil well produced-fluid will be converted into qualified oil and gas through complex processing procedure.The layout of FPSO topside modules could be very compact due to the economic consideration,which may easily induce the occurrence of fire and explosion once there is a gas leakage happens.It will bring a great burden to the human and assets security and environmental safety.Rely on the program of "Research and Development of FPSO Failure Database and Risk Assessment System" from Ministry of Industry and Information Technology,this paper has conducted the risk consequence analysis of oil and gas leakage and diffusion in the topsides of FPSO on the basis of an exist FPSO of our country.The core of the effort is to explore the causes and hazards of risk,and to provide supports for risk control and management of FPSO.There is a conclusion of the development and current situation of risk analysis of ocean engineering and the risk analysis technology of oil&gas leakage and diffusion based on the extensive research and analysis made by the author.There are amounts of latest developments in oil and gas leakage and diffusion risk analysis of FPSO and many other marine structures.The fuzzy synthetic evaluation method and Benjamin Graham(LEC)assessment are applied to conduct the risk identification of oil and gas leakage and diffusion of FPSO topsides with the consideration of the hierarchy characteristics of FPSO system,obtaining the contributions of risk indicators of each subsystem,and also the specific risk equipment.According to the characteristics of marine petroleum industry activities,using the improved gas tank model to solve the leakage problem of risk equipment.To determine the computational fluid dynamics models to conduct the gas diffusion simulation since so much theoretical model of gas diffusion has been compared.To conduct the diffusion simulation of natural gas of constant and varied leak rate by using the ANSYS Fluent software.Much more natural gas diffusion simulation was carried out for different reaction time,wind direction,wind speed and leakage source characteristics to analyze and summarize the influence mechanism of the influence factors on the leakage and diffusion.To develop the risk control measures and analyzes the program effectiveness.Finally,conclusions are made based on the summary of the whole work in the paper,trying to provide guidance for the practical FPSO risk management.
