Food safety is a major livelihood project that affects everyone's vital interests. It is not only the basis for the people's happy life, but also an inevitable requirement for maintaining the harmonious development of the society. With the constant frequency of food safety incidents, people are increasingly concerned about food safety risks.Among the topics related to food safety risks, discussions on food safety risk perceptions are particularly prominent.Studies have shown that people's awareness of food safety risks and objective food safety risks are biased, and people's subjective perception of food safety risks will determine their behavior.More precisely, people's awareness of food safety risks will have a significant impact on preventing food safety risks and ensuring the effectiveness of food safety efforts. This article takes the related theories of sociology and social psychology as the guide, comprehensively uses the methods of literature research, questionnaire survey and case interview to conduct a comparative study on the food safety risk perception of urban and rural residents.First, literature related to food safety risk perception studies was collected in CNKI Chinese databases and foreign databases such as EBSCO host,Springer Link and Wiley, and questionnaires and interview outlines for this study were compiled based on literature review.Secondly,a multi-sampling method was used to collect samples from the city of Chongqing,200 questionnaires were surveyed by urban residents and rural residents, and 10 urban residents and 10 rural residents were interviewed. Then, the social sciences were adopted. The commonly used statistical analysis tool SPSS20.0 conducts descriptive statistics,T-test,F-test and regression analysis on the data collected from the survey, and analyzes the data collected from interviews;finally,it recognizes the food safety risks of urban and rural residents.Based on the comparison of the status quo and the influencing factors, the government, foodmanufacturers, food vendors, media, and individual individuals propose countermeasures against food safety risks. The empirical part of this study mainly includes two aspects: First, compare the current situation of food safety awareness among urban and rural residents;then, compare the factors affecting the perception of food safety risks between urban and rural residents.Among them, the comparison of the current situation is mainly based on the sources of food safety risks, the consequences of food safety risks, and the controllability of food safety risks, and they are corroborated by the data obtained from interviews. For the analysis of influencing factors, reference was made to previous studies of food safety risk perceptions and regression analysis was used to examine factors such as demographic characteristics, trust, risk experience, risk communication, and food safety knowledge for food safety risks of urban and rural residents. After research, this paper finds that in terms of the status quo of awareness of food safety risks of urban and rural residents:(1)Generally speaking, rural residents are more worried than urban residents by the negative impact of food safety risk.(2)The urban and rural residents have obvious differences in the cognition of food safety risk sources, but there is some difference in the cognition of the consequences of food safety risks and the controllability of food safety risks, but the differences are not obvious.(3)The awareness of food safety risks of urban and rural residents has obvious differences in gender, age, presence or absence of underage children, educational level and marital status.Under these demographic characteristics, rural residents have higher risk than urban residents Food safety risk awareness level.Among the factors influencing the food safety risk perception of urban and rural residents:(1)Among the influencing factors of demographic characteristics, only marital status can promote the food safety risk perceived by urban residents, while other factors have an inhibitory effect;High school culture, with 65 years and older and last month's food spending on rural residents have a role in promoting awareness of food safety risks.(2)The influence of trust factor on the awareness of rural residents about food safety risks is greater than the intensity of the impact on urban residents.(3)Risk experiencing factors can promote the quantity or intensity of food safety risk perceivedby urban residents.(4)Among the factors of risk communication, the attention of information, the timeliness of information verification and propaganda activities have an inhibitory effect on the cognition of urban residents' food safety risk, while the confirmation of information and the willingness of the information dissemination to recognize the food safety risk of rural residents Known inhibitory effect.(5)Food safety knowledge has the same direction on the impact of urban and rural residents 'awareness of food safety risks, but they have a stronger influence on rural residents' awareness of food safety risks.Based on the research in this paper, suggestions are made to promote prevention of food safety risks:(1)The government should strictly monitor food production companies and food sales sites, and should communicate with the general public when food safety incidents are discovered.(2)Food production enterprises should optimize input in food production, strengthen self-discipline in food safety production work, and strive to establish food brands that can rest assured.(3)Food sellers should strictly optimize the food they sell, and create a good reputation in the hearts of residents.(4)The media must strive to provide objective and impartial coverage of food safety incidents, and relevant follow-up reports also need to be followed up in a timely manner. In reporting on food safety incidents,it is also necessary to strengthen knowledge of food safety for residents.(5)Residents should maintain an active learning attitude, take time as far as possible to participate in food safety communication activities, and always maintain awareness of food safety risks.
