Diacetyl epoxidized vegetable-oil acids glyceride(HM-828)is a newly developed plant based plasticizer.In this dissertation,the application of HM-828 in poly(vinyl chloride)(PVC)and biodegradable poly(lactic acid)(PLA)were studied.Firstly,the plasticizing effect of HM-828 on PVC cable material were systematically investigated.Results show that HM-828 has good plasticizing efficiency on PVC resin,the glass transition temperature Tg of the samples decreases significantly from80?to-20?when blended with 50 phr HM-828.The mechanical properties of PVC cable materials with 35~50phr HM-828 meet the requirements of standard GB8815-2008 which the tensile strength of material is greater than 15 MPa and the elongation at break of material is higher than 150%.Further,another plasticizer,Trioctyl trimellitate(TOTM)was choose as reference substances to evaluate the plasticizing of PVC.Result shows that whether two kinds of plasticizers used alone or combined,the tensile strength of the materials is in the range 17.3-19.5MPa and the elongation at break is around 400%,further more,the tensile strength of materials added with HM-28 is higher than TOTM.Both HM-828 and TOTM plasticized PVC with good thermal stability,the mechanical properties before and after thermal aging of the materials added with TOTM is better.Besides,the solvent extraction resistance and the resistance to high and low temperature precipitation of HM-828 and TOTM are also excellent,among them resistance to high and low temperature precipitation of TOTM performance is better,and the N-hexane solvent extraction resistance of HM-828 is better.Therefore,HM-828 can be used to substitute completely or partially TOTM in PVC cable material.Secondly,the plasticizing effect of HM-828 on PLA were studied and the corresponding plasticizing mechanism was also investigated.The calculation of solubility parameter have confirmed that HM-828 is close to PLA polarity.FITR results show that HM-828 is a reactive plasticizer for PLA,the reaction taken placed between the epoxy group and the hydroxyl carboxyl-terminated of PLA,therefore,HM-828 has good plasticizing efficiency on PLA resin.Experiment result shows with increase of HM-828 content,the equilibrium torque and the tensile strength of systems reduced,the elongation at break of samples increased significantly.DSC results show that cold crystallization Tcc,melting temperature Tm and Tg move toward lower temperature.The experiment proved that the plasticizing efficiency of HM-828 was remarkable.What's more,the solvent extraction resistance and the resistance to high temperature precipitation of PLA added with HM-828 were also excellent.Finally,the effect of HM-828 added with two PLA filled composites system were further investigated.First,The system of HM-828 plasticized PLA/ starch(TPS)/PLA-g-MAH was studied by orthogonal method test.Mechanical properties of samples as a reference indicator,the effects of each components was investigated,and the optimal formulation was selected for extrusion casting to obtain biodegradable bio-polyester film.Results shows that HM-828 promoted the dispersion of TPS in PLA and improved the flowability of the system.The resulting film not only has good processability and excellent mechanical properties,but also has a lower cost,which shows a broad application prospects in the field of biodegradation.In addition,the extrusion casting process of HM-828 plastic inorganic nano silica(Nano-Si O2)filling PLA system were also investigated.Results show that HM-828 increased the flowability of the system and improved the flexibility of the film.Meanwhile,Nano-Si O2 could play a role of heterogeneous nucleating agent in PLA,raising crystallinity of PLA and the mechanical and thermal properties of the nanocomposites would be greatly improved.On this basis,the influence of films with different tensile ratio on structure and properties was further examined by changing the extrusion casting process.Results show that with increase tensile ratio of films,the degree of orientation and crystallinity of the films were increased,and the longitudinal tensile strength of the film continuously improve while the transverse tensile strength of the film does not change much.And the transmittance of the film was kept above 90% and the haze was kept below 10%.Above results illustrate that HM-828 has the advantages of High plasticizing efficiency and good durability.Its application in PVC,the significance is to replace the conventional toxic and harmful plasticizer.Its application in PLA,the significance is to maintain the characteristics of the biological basis and biodegradability of the system.
