In the process of Methanol-to-Olefin(MTO),there are many problems,such as large number of controlled objects,complicated process,large lag,loop coupling,uncontrollable process disturbance,strong stability requirement,and the problem of low recovery of olefin cracking products,unstable production process,large equipment loss and shortened life of cracking furnace under conventional control method.The effect of ethylene production and the safety of production are not achieved.According to the complexity of the control of Methanol-to-Olefin process,one advanced control system is built based on the Centum VP Distributed Control(DCS)System,and the advanced control algorithm is introduced into the control process of the methanol-to-olefin plant.The main work includes the following aspects:(a)The process of Methanol-to-Olefin is studied and analyzed,and the overall control idea is defined.(b)The control process of ethylene and downstream devices in methanol-to-olefin unit is studied and analyzed.The controlled object and controlled variable are determined,to which the advanced control algorithm will be used,and the model of the controlled object is analyzed and discussed,and the AIDA~proro toolbox is selected to identify the controlled process.(c)The advanced control system,which based on the YOKOGAWA Centum VP Distributed Control System is constructed,and the control object of the propane tower is used as an example to realize the advanced control of the optimization of C3component return flow in the propane tower.The control effect of the advanced control method and the conventional control method were compared.The actual results show that the advanced control system constructed in this paper has better control effect than the conventional control method in the complex control process of the Methanol-to-Olefin plant,which can not only improve the stability of the system,but also bring significant economic benefits.
