With the development of the western region and the revitalization of northeast oldindustrial base, more and more tunnels are under construction in cold region.Compare with normal tunnels, tunnels in cold region will face more complextechnical problems, especially the frost damage prevention prob lems. Quite a lot ofcold region tunnels suffered frost damage all over the word. It brings tunnels’ securityproblems. This problem needs to be solved urgently. This problem is also verymeaningful in application. This paper focus on the research of anti-freezingtechnology combined with the Dongxing tunnel of the Jilin-Hunchun high-speedrailway which is under construction. The research methods include monitoring andnumerical simulation. The main work of this paper includes as followings:Firstly, we analysis of the deficiency of the original anti-freezing schemes, and putforward improvement schemes. A10m section was chosen as test section, theanti-freezing measures were improved. We study the superiority of the improvementschemes to the original one.Secondly, some temperature sensors and earth pressure cells were embedded inboth test section and matched section. The monitoring data was analyzed to reveal thedistribution of temperature field. The monitoring period from November2013to Mayof the following year. It includes the whole process of freezing and thawing cycle ofDongxing tunnel.Then, the transient finite element model was established. The daily temperaturefield was calculated. We verify the reliability of transient finite element model bycomparing the calculation results with the monitoring data. Combining the localmeteorological data, we fit the annual temperature curve. We predicted the tunnel’stemperature field during its operation.Finally, based on the established finite element model, the influence of tunnel’stemperature field was researched. The factor of insulation layer structure and materialwas revealed. We put forward optimization scheme and provide a reference for similarproject.
