Concrete is currently the largest amount of building materials in construction industry because of its advantages of high compressive strength, good durability, strength and wide range. But most of the concrete is used in the main part of the construction in the traditional form. With the proposed smart concrete concept, more and more experts and scholars have carried on research on the electrical properties of concrete. Recent research shows that the conductive properties of concrete, which can be used for grounding device and structure of electric power industry self-regulation etc. In recent years, due to the corrosion of grounding device is a serious threat to the safe operation of power system, which is paid more attention. Grounding device erosion is the main cause of the grounding accident. Because the grounding device is under the substation, it will cost a lot of time and money to reform or replace the grounding device. So this is a problem in front of us that we should solve as soon as possible. Considering the safety and economy aspects, it has important significance to prolong the service life of the grounding grid to add concrete to the surface of grounding device to improve it's corrosion resistance. But this part of knowledge is still fragmented and incomplete. Therefore it is necessary to conduct research and understanding of the volume resistivity of concrete. In view of the above problems, this paper put forward and studied the prospect of steel slag concrete as a new type of concrete in the use of ground device.Based on the physical and mechanical properties of steel slag and the research status of domestic and foreign scholars on steel slag, we studied the conductive properties, mechanical properties and the impermeability of steel slag concrete. It provided theoretical and experimental basis for the prevention of grounding device corrosion. This paper mainly studied the compressive strength, resistivity, pressure sensitive resistance of steel slag concrete and inner and outer factors that affect the performances above. This paper analysed the mechanism of conductivity, pressure sensitive and impermeability of steel slag concrete, and some results were obtained as follows:(1) We use steel slag as a new kind of aggregate successfully made steel slag concrete, It not only has the advantages of low resistivity, but also possesses excellent mechanical properties. This is of great significance to control the cost of making conductive concrete, and also opened up a new way for the application of steel slag and this has significant social, economic, ecological and environmental benefits.(2) Through the experimental study on the performance of steel slag concrete of different components, we found a suitable mix with good comprehensive properties that the quality of steel slag and cement ratio should be maintained at between 1-3.(3) The test examined the relationship between the performance of steel slag conductivity and mechanical properties, steel slag concrete curing period and the incorporation of fly ash and other factors related to it.(4) During the experiment of pressure-sensitive of steel slag concrete, we found the corresponding relationship between the load and the resulting resistivity change of steel slag concrete. The specimen during the compression process showed that the resistivity showed a decrease and then leveled off and then rapidly increase.(5) Based on the property of steel slag concrete, we also studied the influence factors of steel slag concrete that effect it's property of pressure-sensitive.(6) The test studied the impermeability of steel slag concrete with the method of air permeability, and found that with the increase of the steel slag, steel slag concrete anti permeability increased at first and then decreased. On this basis, we studied the factors that affecting impermeability of steel slag concrete.
