With the increasing shortage of the world energy and resources, how to increase energy efficiency and improve energy structure has become an important part of work in each country. Due to high cost of the electric heating energy, a company's vehicle components paint drying lines have to be improved to ameliorate the energy structure.This article combines the energy structure analysis result from above company with existing engineering issues, implementing the optimal use of the newly steam-heated system. In this paper, the numerical simulation and experimental verification method are used to develop a study of vehicle parts with paint drying line power by steam heating system optimization. The main research work and results are as below:First, the parameters of the electricity-increase steam heating system is ascertained; Three technical reformation of steam heating programs are proposed, ultimately, the optimal solution of adding the steam heater above the drying room's air duct is recommended.Second, according to the actual structure of drying chamber and residual amount of steam, the non-standard type steam heater is designed, and the heater pipe size, steam consumption and the effective heating area are confirmed.Third, by using Solidworks and FLUENT software module of ANSYS, three-dimensional thermal coupling model is built. The drying chamber's wind field and temperature field are simulatively analyzed; And the numerical analysis on installation height after adding steam heater is carried out, results from which the reasonable installation height is 200 mm from bottom tuyere location.Fourth, the products drying process is tested based on different transmission speed, which provides a theory basis for confirming the delivery speed when drying different kinds of products.Fifth, the steam piping, system is designed, then, the temperature uniformity of the heating chamber and the temperature control accuracy are actually measured. Finally, the energy-saving efficiency is verified.Through above researches, the existing dry lines are technically modified. The upgraded drying lines achieved the expected effect and were successfully applied in the production process, which brought goo economic benefits.
