Now the problems of energy and environment are more and more important, and electric heating technique which can prevent the pollution of the environment, is recognized widely. Therefore, electrothermics is developed to a cross-subject which includes many subjects such as electrical engineering, pyrology and material science. Nowadays, the food heating in field army becomes a hotspots of armies in and out of China. Base on the flameless electromagnetic heater(patent number is CN200410044061.4), this paper represents the foundational research on its calefaction parts that flameless heater.Firstly, the overview of electric heating methods in and out of China is given, and presents the new concept that dynamic electromagnetic induction. The methods which army used to heat food in the war are mentioned, and the advantages and disadvantages of the methods are also analyzed.Secondly, the structure of the flameless heater is given, and its operation principle is analyzed. Its equivalent magnetic circuit model is founded. Then base on the loss of the electrical machines and mathematic model of electromagnetic field and eddy current field, the exothermic model of the heater is founded.Third, the 3D magnetic field analysis of the heater is given. The distribution of the gap magnetic field is analyzed. The changes of the gap field are given when the dimension of the gap is changed. Then the paper presents a heater model with new rotor structure, and its static magnetic field analysis is given. The heat powers of the heater are analyzed when the rotate speed is invariable. The values of the heat powers in different rotate speeds and their changing regularity versus rotate speed are given The heat powers of heater with new structure are also analyzed. So the paper provides the foundation for the embedded research of these equipmentsAt last, the experiment equipment is designed. The temperature rise curve of the heater is measured, and it is compared with the simulation results.
