The construction of the airport mostly used for cut-fill method, filling materialsgenerally obtain raw material locally.Earth-rock fill excavated a huge amount.Earthwork project of the airport not only transformed the site topography, destroyingnatural vegetation, but also changed the venue of natural drainage pathways, so thatthe hydrological condition become complicated.Artificial earth formation producedhigh fill, filling in some of the higher-lying upstream valley. The problems ofartificially high embankment filling in the middle of the valley areas blocking theupper valley are complex.This paper takes the relocation of Dazhou city airport project in Sichuan province asthe research object. First overviews the basic and engineering geological conditions ofDazhou new airport site, and then uses ArcGIS Desktop software to the establishmentof a digital elevation model(DEM) of the airport site. On the basis of the digitalelevation model of the site?it conducted a hydrological analysis, the map of surfacewater distribution obtained.Then using numerical software GeoStudio series of SEEP/W and SLOPE/W,thestability of high fill slope on Valley surface water channel(three high fill slopes in twosection)is analyzed.Before numerical calculation, a detailed study of the parameters ofunsaturated soil-aggregate mixture of Mudstone, the use of filler particle sizedistribution curve deduced SWCC and permeability curves of the filler.For filler layerfilling technology,takes anisotropy of permeability coefficient of filling materials intoaccount. Properly selected the physico-mechanical parameters of fillers andformation.First the stability of high slope under natural condition were calculated,thenthe stability of high slope in storm and high slope with stagnant water in the toe werecalculated.Lastly,the stability of a unstable slope under the most unfavorableconditions was calculated.The results found that the slope in the downstream direction of the high embankmentfilled in the confluence of three tributary valleys in the northern end of the airportrunway needs special attention.After comparing the stability of the slopes under natural conditions, founded that the rainfall and the water in the toe of the slope have little effect on the stability of highslope in the valley channe of Dazhou new airport, which has a certain relationshipwith the good engineering geological conditions of the site of Dazhou newairport.before the numerical calculation,reliable initial parameters were set,thecalculated results of the gravel soil filler of mudstone selected showed no significantnon-saturation characteristics.the seepage flow in filling body has no obviousinfluence on the stabilitys of high fill slope.Therefore concluded that the permeabilityof the earth-rock mixture of high fill embankment in airport is good, that theunsaturated characteristics of earth-rock mixture was not obvious.
