Most of the structural design method and calculation of the hydraulic structure specification are from the development of civil engineering, therefore the mature structure calculation and analysis software which used in civil engineering can be used in hydropower industry. This paper compares the similarities and differences between two industry design specification and method, and introduces the mature application PKPM in civil industry into the hydropower, in order to improve the design efficiency of hydraulic structure.But due to different industry requirements, the design expression adopted by the coefficient of different categories, all kinds of parameters are different, also the material is with different design strength. Therefore, the direct use of PKPM for calculation and design of hydraulic reinforced concrete structures is not realistic.In this paper, a hydraulic reinforced concrete aqueduct structure design is used as comparison standard, and uses PKPM to do internal force calculation and reinforcement for the structure. First modify the structure importance coefficient, load subentry coefficient, strength design value of the material and the load combination of parameters in the software, and then check the structure seismic design and structure of the overall stability, shear weight, cycle ratio calculation, ensure that the design results conform to the requirements specification of <specification for hydraulic concrete structure design>. And do the structural internal force calculation and the cross section after reinforcement, output diagram calculation and reinforcement figure. Finally, compared with the original design analysis to prove that the PKPM can be applied to the modest volume of the hydraulic design of reinforced concrete structures, and the internal force calculation and reinforcement result which compared with the original designs has the good fit, the calculation is simple, the result is accurate. This article's research result is with good reference value to similar engineering.
