From invention to now,cars only have a history more than one hundred years,however,automobile industry development in line with the aim of mankind to promote the progress of the world.The rapid development of automobile industry make a lot of employment opportunities,create wealth,bring people comfortable and prospective life;With the increase of car ownership,the automobile industry has increased the consumption of resources and energy,caused great damage of the balance of ecological of earth.Faced with the financial crisis and the great challenge of energy and environment problem,in order to promote the strategic transformation of traditional industry,the global auto industry has formed a broad consensus in the action of develop electric vehicles.Conform to the trend of international automobile industry development,China develop the electric car in the 21 st century,it is not only effective means for Chinese auto industry to speed up the pace of using sustainable energy,but also a important strategic choice for Chinese auto industry to realize leap-forward development.Modern vehicle construction design is one of the most important image of the21 st century,the evolution of technology and social change lead to the appearance of the vehicle.Automobile is not only a carrier of advanced technology,but also the production of multi-discipline and multi-objective.As new energy vehicles,electric vehicles are characterized as environmental,simple,fashion,variety and high-tech.With the living standards improving and people's aesthetic standards improving,people have higher expectation of automotive styling,line style,color perception and other visual effects.Through technical refinement,the diversity of products,personalized design,and even diversified portfolio,many car company start to exploit business strategy and market positioning of product which suitable for own company.In terms of automobile body modelling design,designers need to make new efforts and study.Based on the actual project,this paper aims to study how to understand the Party A ' s design requirements better,meet the emotional needs of the users and achieve the industry design concept.Firstly,this paper analyze and study the Party A's requirements.Secondly,work plans are discussed and drawn up on the basis of the research of the development of electric vehicles design at home andaboard.Thirdly,this paper analyze the volume,treatment,graphics and other features of the typical sample to grasp the electric car styling and development characteristics and rules;At last,the general theory is applied in design.The design process is as followed:At first,brainstorming is used to produced large numbers of design proposals,after evaluating these proposals,some were selected to the next term.After iterative design process,the final proposal was chosen.This design covers the phases of design sketching,renderings,CAS,and finally the prototyping.This paper systematically summarized and refined the design process,design methods and design concepts of new electric vehicles,which is very important in promoting electric vehicle design.
