The organic combination of art design and traditional culture is not only the trend of history, but also the main direction of the development of art design. It can make contribution to the added value of products and arouse users' sense of identity while satisfying products' functions, and gradually form brand personality of products. Creative products draw support from traditional culture and history, which are specially owned by the Chinese nation and has the characteristic of blending form and spirit. It will serve as a catalyst for the development of our nation's cultural creative industry.Author has participated design project of cultural creative products design based on Yuelu Academy, which was rooted in regional culture and traditional process. In the context, the thesis started research of design element s collection and innovation of cultural creative products. The innovation of this thesis in theory and practice are mainly in the following aspects:Firstly, the thesis explored the method of collecting design elements and conclude basic model of collecting design element s based on traditional culture. It classified the culture of Yuelu Academy, collected cultural materials of Yuelu Academy, chose the regional cultural materials which has higher priority by factor analysis and questionnaire survey, interpreted them to achieve form factor, function factor and meaning factor from the perspective of Design, transformed them to design element and recreated them.Secondly, the thesis proposed innovation method of design element based on Yuelu Academy's culture and applied it in practices. It did users research by quantitative and qualitative methods, generated design concepts from material, series and life style, and finally did furthe r designed including model, logo, package and website.The design practice of design element s collection and innovation of cultural creative products based on Yuelu Academy verified the effectiveness of the model and method, which can be used as an example for other cultural creative products design and play a positive role in the development of cultural creative industry.
