Construction project contains many participants and can be influenced by many factors, the quality of the projectit can be influenced directly or indirectly by any mistake that would threaten the function of the project and security.China’s construction industry has improved greatly in recent years, but there are still some problems in quality control. As a new technology to lead the construction industry informatization, the information platform based on BIM is conducive to the communication of information and cooperative work among participants, it can avoid errors in the process of information transmission, to improve the construction project’s level of information and integration.Building information modeling is based on the integration and unification of all relevant data in the construction projects,BIM can simulate the building by digital information.The features of BIM is integrity, relevance, optimization and coordination,so that it can simulate the construction process and make collision detection of the project which can not achieved in traditional quality control technology.BIM technology is a typical representative of the development of quality control,which adapt to the demand of information and integration of quality control in current construction industry. Therefore, it is necessary to study the quality control system based on BIM in construction project.Reviewing many papers and related cases, this paper analyses the current quality control theory and technologies in construction project based on the summary of basic theories of BIM elements and the principle of technology, and finding the existing problems in ideas,technology and working ways of traditional quality control. This paper finds a new way of introducing BIM to quality control. First, this paper analyzes the basic theory of BIM technology, it introduces the characteristics and connotation of BIM and analyzes the technical principle;second, this paper studies the theory and current situation of quality control in construction project, summes up the content, methods and influential factors of traditional quality control, and it points out the problems of quality control at present, emphasizes the advantages and value of introducing BIM technology into quality control; third, this paper studies the suitability of BIM technology in quality control according to existing problems, describing the changes in ideas,technology and the way of working, then introduces the application of BIM in quality control from the five influential factors of quality and PDCA cycle;finally, with time and quality information, this paper creates a 5D building information model of quality control based on the 3D building information model. Through the construction of BIM information platform, this paper forms the BIM quality control framework, reengineering the process of quality control,then explans the practical application of BIM in the implementation of construction project combined with relevant cases.
