The port yard is used for storage and transport of goods, has a great influence on the development of the port. The port is generally used these machines such as bucket wheel stacker, bucket lifting machine and bridge stacker as the equipment of stacking materials. But the equipment has large size and high price, is suitable for the professional and large yard. For many kinds of goods and owners of the small yard stacking operation which suitable for bulk cargo handling technology system of dump truck, a new type of piling material machinery--chain bucket stacker as the times require.Chain bucket stacker has the transport characteristics of bucket lifting machine, screw conveyor and belt conveyor, is able to achieve the three levels of transportation of the materials of vertical lifting, horizontal transfer material and tilting and lifting. At the same time, the walking mechanism and luffing mechanism of the chain bucket stacker can let the machine work in any position and different height of yard, can greatly improve the unloading rate of the truck. The function of the spiral feeder structure of chain bucket stacker is to transfer the unloading material by the chain bucket elevator to the cantilever belt. The spiral feeder structure has an important influence on the efficiency of the transfer material piled high performance. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct an in-depth analysis on the effects of conveying capacity of spiral structure, filling rate, rotating speed and pitch, and simulate and verify these factors by EDEM software.In this thesis, it takes the spiral delivering process of chain bucket stacker as the research object, using mechanics knowledge and EDEM software to research the conveying properties of material of the spiral delivering process. It analyses the mechanical properties and plane stress state of granular materials, and the stress on the tank wall of the shape, intensity and formation of granular during the conveying process. According to introduction of the theory of stiffness of spiral shaft bending deformation, analyses the structure characteristics of spiral feeder. Applying single point method to analyze dynamics and kinematics characteristics of the conveying process, get the curve of materials axial speed and radial velocity increases with the radial distance changes according to the formula. Introducing a correction coefficient of axial velocity called ‘ k* ', establishing the mathematical model of ‘ k* ' and filling rate, correcting the formula of conveying capacity. Establishing the mathematical model of filling rate, rotating speed and pitch affect conveying capacity, demonstrated the correctness of the impact of the material conveying theory in EDEM. Determine a set of optimal parameters of the conveying effect according to the simulation data.
