Different from the traditional continuous production line, the production mode of the crane is discrete manufacturing, and the logistics system of manufacturing the crane is a complex system, which has the characteristics of randomness, dynamic and asynchrony. The production capacity and efficiency of the crane is affected by many complex factors, so the research on the crane manufacturing logistics system has certain academic and practical value in engineering. This paper does a deep research on the complexity of the crane manufacturing logistics system from qualitative aspect and quantitative aspect, based on the complex system science theory; With the help of the modeling method based on the DEDS, the static structure and dynamic characteristics of the system are analyzed; Combined with the simulation technique and an example of a crane manufacturing enterprise, the production organization problems during the process of manufacturing cranes is studied. Specifically as follows:(1) From the perspective of the system, this paper specifically analyzes the components of the crane manufacturing base and three manufacturing processes; From aspects of manufacturing scale, layout, equipment, process, production scheduling and environment etc the complexity of the crane manufacturing logistics system is qualitatively analyzed. Then, the information entropy model of static complexity of the system is established, so as to make a quantitative description of impacts which factors like equipment, process, layout and so on lay to the complexity of the system. Finally, the static complexity in an example is calculated.(2) Based on the theory of the discrete event dynamic system(DEDS), this paper also studies the TPCPN(the Colored Petri Net where time is used for delay in the Pace) model of the crane manufacturing logistics system. Considered the manufacturing part and the distribution part, a common Petri Net model is established for a single-station subsystem in the crane manufacturing process; After both time factor and color factor are pushed into the common Petri Net model, and hierarchical modeling ideas are used, the so-called TPCPN model are established to the whole system, and the TPCPN model's trigger rules and dynamic characteristics are discussed and expanded.(3) Based on the simulation techniques, this paper focuses on the simulation of the crane manufacturing logistics system, too. Using the Witness software, the simulation model of the system is established; Four evaluation indexes for the simulation model of the crane manufacturing logistics system are put forward; Combined with an example of a port crane manufacturing, the simulation model is tested and the data is analyzed to settle the production organization problems affecting the production capacity and efficiency of the crane.The research results of this paper directly orient to the engineering practice, conducive to mining the bottleneck of the system, and provide a theoretical basis and decision support for the design and operation management of the crane manufacturing base.
