The main component of the waste edible oil is grease, which is similar to the oil content of asphalt. So the waste edible oil can be used in the asphalt regeneration. Our group has investigated its utilization on asphalt, and the results showed that the waste edible oil could recover physical properties of aged asphalt to 70%~80% of origin asphalt. But anti-deformation at high temperatures and anti-cracking properties at low temperatures still need to be improved. Waste rubber as one of various renewable resources has been widely used in asphalt modification research due to its potential use to improve both high and low temperature properties of asphat.Based on the related our research, in this paper, AH-50 asphalt was used as base asphalt. Firstly aging process was conducted in laboratory, then 6.0wt% waste cooking oil was added to prepare rejuvenated asphalt. Effects of various contents(0.5wt%~3.0wt%) of waste rubber powder on physical properties, components, microstructure and rheological properties were studied. Base on this research, the optimal content of waste rubber was determined and the properties of asphalt mixture with optimal content of waste rubber were investigated. The main conclusions can be drawn as follows:(1) Compared with the origin AH-50 bitumen, waste rubber powder could entirely recover the penetration of aged AH-50 bitumen to the penetration it used to be; The anti-ageing ability is partly improved and the softening point remains the same. With the increasing amount of waste rubber powder, the ductility was decreased while the viscosity is extended. With 2.0wt% of waste rubber powder, the overall performance of recycled asphalt is optimal and it met the specification requirements named “Technical specification for construction of highway asphalt pavements(in China)”.(2) The result of Four components tests show that the contents of saturates and aromatics in asphalt contents reduce, and the contents of resin and asphaltene increase. The results of FTIR tests indicate that carbonyl and sulfoxide groups of waste cooking oil rejuvenated asphalt are slightly increased due to the addition of waste rubber, but it is far less than that of aged asphalt. It means that thermal ageing happens at 180? in rejuvenating process. The FTIR results are consistent with increased resin and asphaltene of Four components.(3)The addition of waste rubber powder can effectively improve the modulus of rejuvenated asphalt and its properties at both high and low temperatures, which leads to improve modulus of waste edible oil rejuvenated asphalt. 2.0wt% of waste rubber powder mixed into the waste cooking oil rejuvenated asphalt can effectively improve the anti-fatigue performance, the anti-deformation ability, elastic recovery and low temperature crack resistance of rejuvenated asphalt.(4) With the addition of waste rubber powder, the road performance of waste cooking oil rejuvenated asphalt mixture has been improved compared to AH-50 asphalt mixture. The adhesion between asphalt binder and aggregate increases. The anti-rutting ability, low temperature crack resistance, anti-water damage ability and fatigue life of waste cooking oil rejuvenated asphalt are improved. In summary, the waste rubber powder can be used for waste cooking oil rejuvenated asphalt modification to improve its modulus, high temperature antideformation ability and low temperature recovery ability. So the applications of waste rubber powder and waste cooking oil have important practical significance for the utilization of the waste of resources and sustainable development of society.
