Research On Technique Of Two Dimensional Unit Symbol Building And Situation Plotting System

With the rapid development of computer graphics, the effect of the battlefield visualization on the information war becomes more and more obvious. As a part of the battlefield visualization system, situation plotting system reflects battlefield natural environment, human environment, military targets and military operations. It is an important basis for military personnel to grasp the battlefield situation and make operational decisions. The present situation plotting system is developed for special military application. It is lack of high correlation between environment information and battlefield information. Therefore, we should develop a new general military plotting system on the basis of current existing system. It is focus on two-dimensional military symbol. The new system should be more modularity, more convenient and efficient for military plotting. In addition, the new system should increase the system expansion.This paper mainly studies the design and implementation of the general military plotting system. Firstly, it discusses the composition of the two-dimensional military symbol, and proposes the index structure to store the military symbol information. It presents the design framework and composition modules of the new system. Secondly, it introduces the military symbol plotting system, which includes two-dimensional military symbol plotting, editing symbol and storing the symbol. It puts forward an algorithm, which is based on the transformation matrix, to deal with the dot symbol plotting. It also gives some line symbols' plotting algorithm, such as the poly line, arrow line and curve line. Thirdly, the new system provides general editing ways of updating the military symbol data, which can update the military symbol data including geometric data and the appearance of the display data. Lastly, it uses the XML to store situation map information.According to the design and implementation of general military plotting system, the new system could improve the speed of the military plotting. It is also easier to modify the symbol data. Last but not least, the military symbol's information has been effectively protected between the preservation and transmission.
