The smart home control system is a key part in the smart home system, which can control the communication between user and the household equipment. What's more, the stable operation of the smart home and the management of household equipment are also depend on it. At present, traditional design method is applied to design the system regularly, but it's unable to adapt to changing needs. In order to better to meet the intelligent household demand, this paper proposes a Hardware-Software Co-design method based on the chip of Zynq7020, a new solution to the smart home control system and Zynq7020 is characterized by high performance and scalability of hardware resource.The paper analyses the functional requirements and the status of smart home control system firstly. Combined with embedded technology, the paper proposes the whole system structure and the software and hardware design solution. The system consists of system nodes, home gateway and user monitoring center. System nodes are composed of Zig Bee terminal nodes and a Zig Bee coordinator node. With the Zig Bee coordinate node as central node, a star network is organized. System nodes realize the collection of indoor temperature and humidity as well as the controlling of multiple lighting lamps and curtain. The Zig Bee chip CC2530 is adopted in the system and the stack of Zig Bee2007 Pro which can support large network operates in it. This paper designs hardware circuit and Zig Bee network of system nodes. Also, nodes control program is designed and we transplant the protocol stack. The home gateway adopts embedded processor Zynq7020 as the core, together with video acquisition module and web server to realize the function of statistical disposition, transmission and storage of monitoring data. The home gateway communicates with user monitoring center and Zig Bee network though the Ethernet and the UART port respectively. Zynq7020 is composed of FPGA and ARM Cortex-A9 dual core. Based on FPGA and ARM Cortex-A9 processors, the paper emphasizes the UART controller design and the control program design in detail. Further more, Android operating system is transplanted in Cortex-A9 processors. In the Android operating system, we realize the function of the web server and video encoder. Finally, a user monitoring center is designed and user can login to the system to control household equipment remotely.After the procedure of the whole system solution design, system nodes design, home gateway design and user monitoring center design, the paper realizes a smart home control system completely and tests it. The result shows that the system design method makes the development circle short. It's easy to transplant software and extend hardware resource. The system is a real-time system and has reached the expected goal.
