Research On Urban Spatial Organization Of The Metropolitan Area Of Hohhot

With the development of regionalization, The metropolitanization of mega cities in China has come of age. Due to the differences between regions,we need to develop different research. Hohhot is a typical city in northwest China, with much land and few people. It has a weak foundation in ecological environment. With the expansion of the city space and other regional policy promoting, The city need to organize the regional space from the aspects of metropolitan area.At the same time, this paper takes the Hohhot urban space as the research object, can display the characteristics of the space of west big cities.. The main content is divided into four parts:The first part has argued the characteristics and problems of the space of Hhoht through the way of literature survey and mathematical statistics. The article has analysised of the progress of the evolution of Hohhot, and other characteristics of the space through the aspects of population, industry, traffic and ecological.Then summarizes the main problems of the development of city space, including center city is to weak to support the whole city region; the lack of governance in some regions developed rapidly; the lack of suitable means of governance; resource constraints and environmental pollution is intensified.The second part has argued that why the metropolitan area of Hohhot should be established from the aspects of foudation and demanding of Hohhot. And defined the range of the metropolitan area of Hohhot.The third part has argued motive force for the formation and development of the metropolitan area of Hohhot from aspects of macro policy, industrial economy, the integration of urban and rural areas, transportation and resources and environment.The fourth part has put forward the city stucture of combined multi center. And puts forward the sturcture of "one center city,three satelite cities,two greenbelt,two regions, six traffic corridors" and the urban system of " core area-- satellite city--professional town". Finally, proposed the specific optimization strategies from three aspects : the space of industrial,ecological and transportation system.
