Optical Signal Analyzer is an indispensable instrument in testing field. Optical Signal Analyzer can analyze the eye diagram and constellation diagram of signal with different modulation formats, calculating the parameters of eye diagram and constellation diagram can reflect the signal quality. Furthermore, it provides the mask of eye diagram to determine whether the signal to be measured in accordance with standard. The software of Optical Signal Analyzer is the main components of the instrument, mainly for human-computer interaction. Also, it provide a software algorithms to recover eye diagram and constellation diagram by the sampled data and calculate parameters of eye diagram and constellation diagram, then shows the results of parameters on the display screen. The development of High-Speed Broadband Optical Signal Analyzer in domestic is still in the blank stage. This thesis presents the system of Optical Signal Analyzer, including the instrument’s hardware structure, software development platform and the function of Optical Signal Analyzer. The Optical Signal Analyzer in this thesis is based on the technology of acquiring high speed data stream by low speed pulse in all-optical sample system and the technology of coherent light receiving to realize the acquisition and O/E conversion of high data stream. Moreover, based on powerful signal processing, powerful analysis function in virtual instrument and instead of using a hardware clock recovery circuit to retrieve the required synchronization information, a software algorithm is used to recover eye diagram to reduce hardware cost and improve the performance of system.This thesis is based on LabView2011 software platform to realize interface design and design of functional module. Interface design is composed of startup interface, user interface and the layout of UI elements. The design of function module is composed of parameter setting, drawing the mask of eye diagram, calculating the value of eye diagrams’ parameters, zoom tools, and displaying the result of eye diagrams’ parameters, which based on the concept of software modularization design. Also, the problems and solutions encountered in the test system debugging process are discussed in this thesis. Furthermore, it accelerates the running speed of the software by optimizing the performance of the software in this thesis. Finally, the methods of generating executable file and installation package are provided in windows operating system.
