The flexible cable network is an important part of the large Hoop Truss Deployable Antenna(HTDA). Because of heat alternating stress with the influence of space environment, the antenna reflector surface’s precision is greatly reduced, and thus reduce the gain of antenna so that the antenna can’t work normally, so the dynamic research of the flexible cable network with the influence of thermal environment is of very important significance. In this paper, the dynamic characteristics of the flexible cable network are studied theoretically and experimentally. The main work and contributions of this study are summarized as follows:1. The continuous membrane theory is used to formulate the nonlinear vibration equation of the flexible cable network, and factors affecting its nonlinear natural vibration, such as the temperature and amplitude are discussed. The temperature and amplitude increment will make the nonlinear vibration frequency of the flexible cable network increase.2. The nonlinear finite method is carried out on the static and dynamic analysis of the flexible cable network. ANSYS FEM is used in its modal analysis under the thermal environment. Considering the change of elastic modulus under the thermal environment, thermal stress caused by thermal effect and relaxation of tension caused by creep impacts on the natural frequency of the flexible cable network. Finally, the change of structure natural frequency is compared under uniform temperature field and non-uniform temperature field.3. Based on thermal modal test of the flexible cable network to verify the reliability of theory and simulation, and then combining modal parameter identification method to get the natural frequencies and modal shapes of the single cable and cable network. The natural frequencies of the flexible cable network under the different heating temperature will be studied.4. Dynamic simulation of the flexible cable network under the space thermal environment is carried out. Firstly, we obtain the temperature field under space environment through the I-DEAS TMG module, and then get the natural frequencies of the flexible cable network under the space environment by the thermal modal simulation of ANSYS software.
