Technology Research And Program Design Of Luffing Jib Tower Crane

The program design of luffing jib tower crane is a creative section in the whole developing process of product, which plays a significant role in improving product performance, reducing cost and shortening development cycle. However, because of the high requirement of professional knowledge, the difficulty of mastering design method and the complexity and tedium of development, universal CAD system can't meet the requirement. Lacking a efficient and professional CAD software, the application of computer-aided design in tower crane is still in low level. Currently, all departments of tower crane designing widely use two-dimension or three-dimension of CAD to paint engineering drawings. When they face repeated and complicated calculations, the only way is figuring by hand or using simple method of calculation, such as Excel spreadsheet. This situation has seriously impacted on development cycle of tower crane.Upon the application of actual science projects, in this paper, the methods and procedures of program design of luffing jib tower crane is studied. The elementary problems of program design of luffing jib tower crane is concluded. The mechanical modeling of tower and jib are established. The software function and role are discussed. The software is divided into user management module, program selection module, jib module, tower module, calculation module, through interface design, realized the data transmission between various modules, so as to ensure the integrity and systematic of design process.The software has carried out the program design of a luffing jib tower crane named XGTL1600, in order to verify the correctness. The practical result shows that, using this software, designers can easily get exact and reasonable results. Besides, working strength will be eased dramatically. For shorten the development cycle and improving working efficiency, this software will be of great practical significance.
