Air spring is a non-metallic spring whereby compressed air is pumped into a flexible container and elasticity is attained by using the compressibility of air. It has good elastic properties, has been widely used in aerospace, aviation, train, automobile, machinery and other departments.Air spring is often used especially in some large structure modal test, it as support when doing the missile and large aircraft ground vibration test, to reduce the influence of supporting system vibration, meet the simulative requirements of the air state of suspension.On the strength characteristics of the air spring, it is difficult to use the traditional theories and methods of the research. With the development of various disciplines and the rapid development of finite element calculation theory, the finite element numerical method becomes a powerful tool for the analysis the vibration problem of a complex structure.Modal test is one of the basic works of studying on dynamic characteristics of aircraft. The ideal state is to make the specimen in the “free-free” state when doing modal test. In this paper, we took a certain aerospace products as an example, used CATIA software to built supporting system namely air spring mode, used ANSA, NASTRAN software to analyze strength, stiffness and dynamic characteristics of each subsystem of the air spring and the whole system, verified the rationality of every component, every subsystem, and the whole system. In actual, specimen is supported by an elastic supporting system, the stiffness, added mass and supporting position of the supporting system will affect the rigid-body modal frequency of the system directly. In this paper, we studied on the influence of stiffness, added mass and supporting position of the supporting system on modal test results, and put forward the design method of modal test supporting system.
