With the increasing of penetration of China's automobile, more attention being paid on energy and environmental problems, as well as the growing demand on driving comfort and safety, Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) has been more and more applied in modern automobile industry. Compared with traditional vehicles, vehicles with CVT can be better fuel economy and power performance, while improve driving comfort and safety.This topic is from the Continuously Variable Transmission project of Shenyang Yueshida CVT Co.Ltd and Dong Feng Company, aimed at designing EMCVT control system for F505 models.In this paper, the overall structure of control system has been designed, and the hardware model has been determined. By analyzing the speed ratio control and clutch control strategies, the software part of control system has been developed by using Motohawk. Control system uses graphical programming, and it is convenient for debugging and simulation.The works done in this paper is as follows:(1) Based on the background of the topic, the basic structure of EMCVT, the transmission principle and the variable speed principle of EMCVT have been studied. At the same time, the speed ratio control and clutch control strategies have been detailed analyzed.(2) The overall structure of the system has been designed. According to the requirement, determined the TCU model, distributed the I/O interface and used the CAN bus as the communication network.(3) The control system software including input and output module, CAN communication module, secondary logic control module, main logic control module and data calibration module has been designed by Matlab/Simulink and Stateflow and Motohawk development tools.(4) The software has been tested on the software testing platform which is built up with PC and TCU in laboratory. It is proved that the software can operate stably and each function module can be realized.(5) Finally, summary and forecast of this paper's work are provided.
