Traffic accident not only causes enormous ecnomic losing, but also many social problems, such as the increasing disabled people and family misfortunes. In the filed of car passive safety, Neck injury biomechanics is indispensable content. One of the most frequency injury part is neck in the car rear collision. About 90% of the injury is neck injury in the car rear collision. The high incidence and often long-term consequences of the neck injuries lead to great harm to patients and huge social costs. This paper aims at developing effective tools, methods and guidelines for improvement of seat design. The paper based on finite delement simulation software, HYPERMESH and LS-DYNA, use the mean of virtual simulation study. The topic makes the simulation analysis of vehicle collision by the finite elements method, research the design parameters of seat and the effect on damaging to spine. This paper introduces the basic theory about vehicle collisoin and relevant algorithm. It includes:thought on fenite element, collision process description basic equations, elements, contact method and time integral algorithm, etc. And take a car as example, establish finite element modle of car collision and the occupant restrain system finite element modle with preprocessor software HYPERMESH.It includes:simplifition of geometric modle, treatment of the spot welding and bolt connection, dummy position, establish seat belt element, loads on modle and definition contacts. Then analysis and verify to car front collision model. Finally, establish the car rear-collision model, make calculation and simulation on the model. There are different models to the different parameters of seat headrest.Though the analysis and comparison of different schemes, find out of the relationship between parameters of seat headrest and neck injury. So as to make imrpovement on seat design. In order to lower the risk injury or lighten neck injury severity.
