This paper firstly introduces the related knowledge and development direction of low voltage switchgear equipment. The effect of the heat problem on the low voltage switchgear is stated, and the importance of the research on the low voltage switchgear is demonstrated. The national standard for the detection of low voltage switchgear equipment is introduced, and the change history of the standard is introduced. The current situation and problems and contradictions in the low voltage switchgear equipment inspection industry are described. Backward detection method can not meet the needs of high-tech products, human power loss is huge. In order to solve this problem and contradiction, this paper tries to put forward the method of using the simulation method instead of the traditional method of temperature rise. Finally leads to the research object of this paper--the temperature rise type test of low voltage switchgear equipment.The concept of temperature field is put forward for the temperature rise test of low voltage switchgear equipment. Finite element analysis model of the temperature field of low voltage switchgear. On the basic theory of heat transfer, the differential equation of steady state temperature field is described. Finally, the finite element method for the analysis of the temperature field of the low voltage complete switchgear is described.The test of temperature rise type of low voltage switchgear is carried out by using ANSYS 14 software, the simulation data for the XL-21 type low voltage is switchgear obtained by building 3D model,dividing the grid, applying load, data calculation.In strict accordance with the requirements of national standards, use advanced equipment, complete the temperature rise type test for XL type of low voltage switchgear equipment. Using the GP20 type portable paperless recorder to monitor and collect the temperature, the test data is obtained. The simulation data are compared with the experimental data, the simulation test method of temperature rise test for low-voltage switchgear equipment is feasible.
