With the advancement of technology and the development of power electronics technology, the power electronic devices produced by Silicon carbide are gradually becoming commercially available. It manufactured power electronic devices with high blocking voltage, high frequency and high temperature resistant capability is strong, but also has a small switching losses and low on-state resistance advantages. Such devices for induction heating power design offer possibilities with new topology.Induction-heating technology requires specific features such as high output power levels in a reduced enclosure, large load variation and reduced cost. Classical solutions are based on the combination of AC-DC-AC, but there is still room for efficiency and cost improvements. This paper proposes a direct ac-ac converter to reduce the component count, reduce cost, improve reliability, and increase efficiency. The proposed converter is a voltage-source series-resonant converter, Through the paper of the modulation strategy can achieve linear output power control, reducing control complexity. Moreover, the proposed converter achieves soft switching during both turn-on and turn-off transitions, further improving the efficiency. The simulation and prototype of the 2.6-kW converter has been carried out, verifying the feasibility of the proposal and the expected performance.
