With the improvement of people's material life,more and more families choose to buy private cars,and that is why the car sales volume grows bigger and bigger.But when looking at the entire automotive industry,it is easy to find out a strange phenomenon that only the wire harness area still remains to be at a manual operation stage when most of the others are already at automatic machine-operated stage.With the increasing demand of automotive wire harness,and the company's labor costs rising in China,most of the manufacturers in the automotive wiring harness are actually in a small-profit or even non-profit state.In order to solve this dilemma,Zhuji CANU Co.,Ltd.and the Hangzhou Dianzi University jointly developed a semi-automatic automotive wire harness machine,which is designed for automotive wire harness manufacturers to gradually replace the role of workers in factories.However,because of the complexity of wire harness machine system,the workers of factories are not quite capable of maintaining wire harness machine or doing fault diagnose.It's needed to develop a set of fault diagnosis system for this type of wire harness machine.A hybrid fault diagnosis method is discussed,which takes the advantages of Fault Tree Analysis(as knew as FTA)and fault diagnosis expert system,to solve the problem.It's based on the analysis of the system's fault tree and expert system which uses knowledge-based inference method,hybrid inference direction,Depth-limited first search strategy and a conflict resolution strategy based on the importance of knowledge.In this paper,some failures in the process of the wire harness are analyzed,and fault trees based on the three failures are established,in which the three failures are respective the top events.By analyzing the minimum cut sets,the minimal cut set and the bottom event structure,the design of the expert system is completed.Finally,the fault diagnosis expert system is developed by computer programming.
