The development of vehicle wire harness is an important part of new electrical architecture, and also is an essential process of new vehicle development platform. In the traditional design process, the engineering delivery material of wire harness is 2D drawing. But the manual 2D drawing has the problems such as not matching the 3D math design, low automatization, low efficiency and lack of standard database. This dissertation put forward the integration design of vehicle wire harness to connect the harness design and vehicle more closely with 3D maths engineering delivery.(1) Introduced request of integration harness maths. Compared with traditional harness maths, the new maths includes not only the information of routing and dimension but also the information of schematics and circuits. On basis of the above, suitable 3D design software should be chosen for vehicle harness system development.(2) Introduced the interface file of 3D maths and electrical schematics. In the development process of integration wire harness design, the harness routing design and electrical schematic design are taken charge by different engineer with different software. So we need use the interface file to transfer the data, keep the data synchronization and avoid repeating manual work.(3) Introduced the process of integration vehicle harness system design defining from the confirmation of the electrical architecture, and confirmation of every electrical function device, harness partition solution, and circuit protection solution etc., till completion of the integration harness maths, as well as every timing point to finish the relevant work..The following research achievement has been accomplished after the program: China Low Cost Electrical Architecture has been set up initially. The harness development process has been optimized in line with integration design. In addition, as part of vehicle self-development, integration design of vehicle wire harness has applied and won the honor of Science Advancement Prize in automotive industrial awarded by SAIC.
