| Pantograph catenary system is the main equipment of the electric railway, it’s characteristics of sliding load has an important influence on the electrified railway operation. However, due to the complexity of the actual operating environment, impact of technology and structure, offline is inevitable, the offline arc generated a lot of ambient electromagnetic noise radiation. With the rapid development of High-speed Rail way, the noise harassment of pantograph catenary system offline caused the attention of many scholars. Offline radiated noise not only endanger the traffic safety, but also adversely affect the health of nearby residents and communications along the railway. Therefore, it is significance to study the arc radiation noise of the pantograph catenary system.In this paper, the arc radiation noise generate by the offline arc of the pantograph systems is researched on the background of electrified railway. Firstly, we analyzed the physical characteristics of electromagnetic interference, off-line arc causes and characteristics, then we established the Matlab simulation model on the basis of the pantograph catenary system, and simulated the discharge characteristics and the spectral range of the arc. After that, we carried out the far field and near field characteristics of the tipical frequency of the pantograph catenary arc.
