Medium-voltage vacuum breaker has been widely used in municipal, electric and oil industry as a necessary control and protective device. As the advancements in the study and technique, such breaker has been developed with the characteristics of high voltage and large capacity. For the fabrication of breaker, the realization and improvements of automatic production and detection have been become the key issue. Mechanical operation, i.e.running-in test is the first detection procedure after the production and assembling of vacuum breaker, which is important to its characteristics indexes and further affects the quality and performance of the breaker. In this thesis, we optimized the running-in test system of medium-voltage vacuum breaker.Firstly, the structure of control subsystem was improved as follows: the control method was changed from original single PLC integrated control into single master and multi-slavers control; the data interface of master-slave PLC was redefined which made the structure clear and modular. Secondly, to solve the problem of the commonly used voltage regulating power, the electric power was improved by investigating “AC-DC-AC” inverter based on SPWM regulating technology. This power adopts external regulating working patterns, which is controlled by test PLC(i.e. slaver PLC). The various DC/AC test voltage can be programmed output according to the requirements of test productions.Through the improvements of power and the structure of controller, the optimization of the medium-voltage vacuum breaker was realized which can improve the working efficiency.
