The reliability of plant power source is important for the safe production in power plants or large enterprises. Fast power transfer is a useful method to improve the reliability of plant power. The development of fast power transfer technology, especially synchronous capture switch, improve the success rate of plant power transfer, and reduce the time consuming. However, with the rise of autonomous power plants, the enterprises try to make the power plant operate in the isolated power system. In this process, the mode of plant power transfer has been fundamentally changed. The auxiliary transformer and standby transformer are relatively independent power source. Comparing to the traditional switch method, the switch of two independent power sources may cause asynchronous short circuit, or prolong the switch time because of the large phase angle difference. The dynamic process and mode of plant power transfer are studied in this paper, and the impact of power transfer on generation unit operation in isolated power system is also presented. The main work is shown as follows,Firstly, the mathematical model of induction motor is studied, and build plant power system of 300 MW unit using the existed induction motor model in Real Time Digital Simulator(RTDS). The power transfer data and induction motor starting data are used to optimize the parameters of developed system and improve the similarity of developed model compared to actual motor operation status.Secondly, at different operation conditions, e.g. frequency and initial phase angle, the switch process between two independent power sources of generation units in isolated system are simulated using the developed model. The impact of operation conditions on the auxiliary load is also analyzed. Finally, the plant power transfer data of generation units in isolated system is firstly analyzed. Based on the potential problems of existing plant power transfer system discovered in this paper, a plant power transfer mode with automatically adjustment is proposed.
